What is it?

In the area provided you can specify the [Page Names] that will be used in the [Navigation] of your website. Each page title must go on a new line. You can also indent a [Page Name] to define it as a [Sub-page] and this will be associated with the [Page Name] listed directly above the indented line.

There is no limit to the amount of pages that you can create - your site can be as big or as little as you want it – the possibilities are endless.

Warning: If you rename a page here, you are actually creating a new page. Use edit to rename a page.

If you change or rename a [page name] in the defined area, you are actually creating a new page. i.e. You have a [page name] defined as “About Me” and you have added content to this [Page]. In this section, if you rename the page name “About Me” to be something else like “About Us” all of the content that is associated with the previous [page name] will be lost as the change would be classed as a new page entitled “About Us”.

To rename a page and keep the associated content, click the tab marked [Edit] in the [Toolbar] and select the page that needs renaming. You can then rename a page so that keeps any associated page content in the area provided.

Navigation & Page creation

The main area provided is where you can define your [Page Names]. Each [Page Name] must go on a new line. After you have selected your [Page Names], click the [Save Changes] button to confirm your choices and [Save] your changes

Primary / Parent Navigation links

[Page Names] without an indent will be the [Primary] or [Parent] page of the [navigation]

Secondary / Children Navigation links [Page Names] with an indent will become the [Secondary] or [Children] page of the [Parent] page in the navigation

Once the [Parent] page name has been clicked the [Children] will also be displayed.

In this example when [Services] has been clicked on, the page [Testimonial] and [Portfolio] will be displayed:

This can also work up to 10 navigation tiers – the scope is there for multiple pages and multiple tiers to be incorporated into your website.
